What is Easy Eats?
Easy Eats is an all-digital, gluten-free food and lifestyle magazine. We challenge the traditional approach of what it means to be gluten free, looking at life through a positive lens and proving that it's "good to be gluten free." Our community of passionate readers looks to us for recipes, inspiration and resources on all things gluten free.
How does it work?
Easy Eats is similar to a print magazine, except that we publish our issues digitally so you can read them on your computer and mobile devices. This also lets us write interactive stories with built-in links, videos and social sharing.
What is celiac disease?
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder in which the body reacts to a specific protein in some grains (such as wheat, barley and rye) and fails to absorb nutrients as a result of the associated damage to the small intestine.
Is celiac disease the same as a wheat or gluten allergy?
No. A wheat allergy is a reaction that causes an inflammatory response in the body. The particular response can range considerably in terms of the trigger, symptoms and severity.
How can I tell if I have a reaction to wheat or gluten?
Symptoms of celiac disease vary, but may include malnutrition, diarrhea and lactose intolerance. For an allergy, symptoms may include eczema, asthma and other inflammations. Diagnosis is tricky, so be sure to see your doctor for help.
